Default Phoenix Emperor - some thoughts

Am a humble level 7 player with only me in the army. In battles have a choice of about 20 others.

Whilst playing level 6 all the players listed for battles were level 5!! Never saw one level 6 player.

Perhaps it's my failing eyesight but I don't like the size of the font - too small. And who thought that red numerals on a black background were a good idea?

To echo what was said in another thread about battle points I'm convinced there's a problem. I attacked (in error) and won against a player with two in their army. My attack points totalled 13 and their defence points totalled 29. I am using only 5 skill points.

Nice win but surely can't be correct? Would make picking a winning battle strategy quite challenging.

Have tried to recruit without success - is there anyone out there at the higher levels?

Thoughts, comments and words of wisdom all appreciated.

I will be coming out with a cheat sheet (spreadsheet) for this game soon. It has a lot of potential but they are currently tweaking the battle system as it obviously has problems.

A lot of the same Storm 8 strategies apply in this game. Building income is very important but the open season stage comes much earlier (around Level 16 or so right now).

On a side note, made the Champions list #1 most wealthy

I was there for a while, then I leveled, and the attacks at 21+ are horrid. I'm losing 80k+ when I can't buy properties. And I have the maxed out defense/crew. Its gay after 20.

I've really soured on this game. Biggest problem is not enough players, second biggest problem is there isn't enough to justify playing a game pretty much identical to the S8 games but lower quality, and finally I just can't get myself back into it after the bad update bug.

Nice to know someone's making money out of this but I think I'm going to go to sleep seeing the same few names appearing all the time.

Still driven mad by the colour schemes and background. In daylight in the fresh air it's virtually invisible which introduces a nice random element when picking battles!! Am delighted to be nowhere near the winners' lists as I have a feeling that you'd get selected for bounty.

Looking forward to the cheat sheet - very very welcome. You're a star and deserve all the money you can get.

I just started this game and it has similarities with S8 games.

Question: everytime I buy a field and put a farm on it, the field dissapeares and I have to buy a new one (the farm stays). Is this normal?

Playing this game now for the past 2 weeks and I have to say: it's much nicer than S* games. The ease of play is the same, but there's simply some more variables that make the game more interesting.

try it.

I'm hoping that you discovered the answer to the farm by now right? Farms are land and then properties are built on land. To build a pig farm, requires that you already own the farm to build upon. I thought this was an issue when i first started myself.

Check out the formums on the codxp.com site. there's a lot of good information over there and some occasional banter back and forth amongst some of us.

Thanks Ripper, yes I did. The game is great. Like it much better than the S8 games. More variety. One small downside is the number of players. That can still be improved.

My thoughts about Phoenix Emperor is that it is a great if a little game... for me ROI is very important here and also is the fact that you have to be streetwise and kill kill kill & then either invest or bank your gold as quick as possible to avoid being farmed...

Talking of farming because of the 4 hits max rule no-one really complains as much as they do on Storm8 games when you hit 4 times on the trot, plus bounties are high so you either use them wisely or save up a bit of cash and hit everyone, (well i hit the guys on the top 10 on the untouchable list, because they are worth it)

Anyway if anyone has any questions about the game i am called "duck"

Laters and happy killing!!!!!!!

The more I play Phoenix Emperor the better I like it. I have almost completely stopped playing the S8 games. Not touche World War for 4 weeks and haven't even been attacked (similar for all other games). S8 games are just too static.

I wouldn't say that I like it better that storm8 games. I do however like a lot of the different options there are. The graphics have something to be desired, and it is a bit laggy. Overall I like it and like others have said it has great potiential.
